Short Description:
Founded in 1967, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation is the largest independent conservation organization dedicated solely to saving the Chesapeake Bay. We accomplish this mission through educating, advocating, restoring and litigating! The CBF Education Department Mission is to create a constituency who will value the Bay and its watershed as a living, connected system and who will act to restore clean water and ensure a high quality of life for all inhabitants. The education department has the largest full-time environmental education staff in the country and offers nationally recognized environmental education programming.
How CBF supports STEM Education, Career Readiness, and the FrAY Ecosystem:
Our programming directly connects learners to hands-on, outdoor learning experiences that will engage them in 21st-century learning skills. We emphasize learner voice, inquiry, creative and critical thinking, problem solving and communication.
The Chesapeake Bay Foundation and FrAY can work to ensure the learners and community members in the FrAY service area have access to high quality, hands-on programming and opportunities that will develop career skills and opportunities that will promote STEM learning and career readiness in Franklin, Adams and York Counties.
