MANTEC

Short Description: 

MANTEC is a privately-funded non-profit on a mission to advance manufacturing excellence by helping small and mid-sized manufacturers improve operations and grow. We also manage the South Central PA regional "What's So Cool About Manufacturing?" middle school student video contest. This career exploration activity, which exposes students to 21st century manufacturing environments, is aligned with PA state standards and provides participants with a career artifact.

Our mission is to advance manufacturing excellence so that we can achieve our vision of South Central PA being a regional, national, and global manufacturing leader. MANTEC supports career readiness initiatives and STEM education because today's manufacturers are facing critical skills gaps and unprecedented numbers of retirements that threaten our competitiveness. In today's automated world, manufacturing leaders need more employees who understand science, technology, engineering, and math in order to keep production lines flowing efficiently. 

As an economic development organization focusing on an industry that requires STEM skills, MANTEC is vested in providing experiential learning opportunities for students to explore manufacturing careers, and professional development opportunities for adults to enhance their knowledge.
