The IU1 Watershed Conservation Field Day is a single day student experience for students in the Remake Learning Pittsburgh Region. It is hosted by Intermediate Unit 1 in partnership with Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc., the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, and the Washington County Conservation District. It is funded, in part, by a Remake Learning Moonshot Grant.
Students will complete hands on watershed conservation tasks, led by industry experts, such as water quality testing and macroinvertebrate sampling. Students will also tackle a watershed conservation escape room, a holistic STEM challenge that applies mathematics skills in the work performed by the professionals at CEC Inc.
