Meet Our Team

Our Purpose:

Our team came together in support of the message and sense of community that Churches in Mission has brought to Morgan County. The report we created was made in an attempt to spark ideas or create solutions for potential challenges Churches in Mission may be facing now or in the near future. Any resolution created through these recommendations was made possible by the group effort put forth in the W231 Professional Writing course over the course of the Spring 2025 semester.

Hi, my name is Isabel Shostrand, and I am from Mooresville, Indiana. I am a sophomore studying Neuroscience at IU Indianapolis and currently taking W231 Professional Writing to better my communication skills. I was motivated to work with Churches in Mission of Morgan County due to the interactions I had seen take place in my own community. My contribution to the recommendation report included conducting the interview, building the website and going over the methodology.

I am Tyler Pierce, and I am from Avon, Indiana. I am a junior earning my degree in Political Science at IU Indy and taking W-231 to work on my constructive, non-argumentative writing skills. I was impressed by Isabel's pitch and interested in working with a charity organization, especially one serving rural communities, rather than a business. My contribution to our report was analyzing the data we collected and writing up the takeaways and recommendations.

I am Alyssa Arneson and I am from LaPorte, IN. I am a sophomore currently studying Criminal Justice and a minor in Anthropology. I am taking W231 to learn more about how to better my professional writing skills and communication skills too. I was curious about this charity organization and wanted to learn more. My contribution was the writing the introduction, conculsion and being the recorder, which is writing down all the information for everyone in the group.

I am Laura Ibarra and I am from Greenwood, IN. I am a sophomore currently studying Biology while completing my prerequisites for Veterinary school. I enrolled in W231 to improve my writing skills and to gain experience collaborating with others. I love helping people which is what motivated me to learn and help this organization. My contribution was the Executive Summary, which is a briefly summary of the entire report.
