My name is Van Tin Par. I am a senior at IU Indianapolis studying Health Service Management in the Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health. As a future healthcare professional, my goal is to become a healthcare professional who can positively impact both the delivery of services and the well-being of individuals within the community.
I chose Health Service Management as my major after a turning point in my academic journey. Initially, I was pursuing a degree in Dental Hygiene. Still, after facing challenges and not meeting my goals in the program, I realized my initial plan wasn’t aligning with my aspirations. During a conversation with my advisor, I shared my desire to work in a healthcare setting and, most importantly, to contribute to helping people. She recommended exploring Health Service Management as a path that could combine my interests in healthcare and my passion for making a difference in the lives of others.
After thoroughly reviewing the field and its potential, I found myself genuinely intrigued by the opportunities Health Service Management offers. I became excited about the prospect of working behind the scenes to improve healthcare systems, enhance patient experiences, and create positive change within the industry.
