A moment, when I experienced a sense of accomplishment during my internship, occurred a couple of weeks post-training. During the initial training phase, I encountered a challenge in dealing with the amount of 2-D thick slice MRIs, which needed to be transformed into high-resolution isotropic images. I found myself struggling with distinguishing between the axial, coronal, and sagittal planes, managing a few patients per day. However, after a few weeks, once I grasped the intricacies of the process, I was efficiently handling data of multiple patients within a single hour, and the progress I had made in such a brief span took me by surprise. Consequently, I felt a genuine sense of pride. To navigate through this learning curve, I actively sought support and guidance by approaching my supervisor with questions, took the initiative to undergo re-training on specific aspects, and collaborated with my co-worker to address and overcome challenges.
The aspect of my experience that presents the greatest difficulty is maintaining concentration on my work over extended periods. The monotony of the tasks contributes to this challenge. To address this issue, I've designated dedicated time slots in my schedule for my internship. Additionally, I make a conscious effort to stay connected with my supervisor and/or colleagues periodically, given that my internship is conducted remotely.
