To become a lead pharmacy technician at CVS Pharmacy, you to have to pass a National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board exam. After obtaining my PTCB, I became a nationally certified pharmacy technician and moved into the role. My duties and responsibilities included working directly with staff and patients.
These duties included:
Creating and publishing store schedules
Managing a team of 11+ technicians on a daily basis.
Train 5+ new technician weekly are various pharmacy tasks.
Ensure excellent customer services.
In the role of an inventory specialist, I was in charge of more than just counting medications. Some of my duties in this role include:
Check in and send out orders.
Pull outdated medication off the shelves and return them.
Ensure medication counts are accurate.
Work directly with patients about ordering special manufacturers as well as OTC items that are not in stock in store.
During my degree, and internship was required in order to graduate. I was fortunate enough to be able to do an internship through my work at CVS. As a management intern, my duties and responsibilities included:
Learning the day-to-day operations as a manager
How to handle conflict between patients, insurance, staff, etc.
How to make the pick-up process for medication smoother.
How to increase downloads of the CVS mobile app.
