About Me

I am a sophomore majoring in Exercise Science and earning certificates in Personal Training and Youth Physical Wellness Programming. I plan to attend graduate school for Physical Therapy to hopefully become a Pediatric Physical Therapist. I am Late Night's Director for the Student Activity Programming Board (SAPB) and VP of ALD/PES Honor Society.

I chose to be an Exercise Science major because it goes hand and hand with physical therapy. I like learning about the human body, muscles, and movement. I also personally like working out and through exercise science I am learning more about which exercises train which muscles and how long you should work out.

My strengths as a team member include determination, dedication, creativity, communication, and flexibility. These traits have become my strengths through expereinces I have has thus far. For example, in high school I was an Art Assistant which brought out my creative side. I have been dedicated to my roles and responsibilities starting when I played tennis in high school and other extra-curricular which has helped me manage my time. I have learned communication through listening and discussing topics at my past job as an Administrative Assistant. Being a college student has taught me to be flexible in my day to day and not get caught up in the small details. These transferrable skills are making me into the best possible version of myself I can be.

Even though I am dedicated and flexible I can grow by stopping to self-critize and get caught up in small details. I am learning to reflect on my past successes and mistakes and move forward.

My team role has changed through the year. During the beginning of the school year I was making phone calls to hospitals for them to put up flyers about our research study and later I began making facebook posts to parent support groups to gain interest in our study. I also have used by time to do a literature review on telehealth and parent preferences of parent training and support.
