Post Graduation I see my self taking the state exam to get my license and jumping straight into work. I have previous experience of being on the patient end of being in Riley Childrens Hospital, so I would like to work there.

Pediatric nurses typically care for children from infancy to late teenage years. These types of nurses work closely with doctors and patient, since their patients are children its important to establish trust to make them comfortable.
What are the personal characteristics of someone in this career? Pediatric RNs must have patience, empathy, and communication. All of these characteristics are import to establish a bond and trust between both parents and patient.
Explain the nature of the work, including required skills for this career. The type of work depend on where in a hospital or clinic you would like to work in. I would like to work in a hospitals general ward. So in the general ward I would be routine, checking vitals, asking how they fee, and just provide regular care.
Identify the education or training that is required to enter and progress in this career field. To start you need a Associate or Bachelors degree in nursing. Then you'll need a nursing license, then to actually care for children you'll need to take a pediatric board exam.
What salary range and types of benefits can you expect from this career? An average Peds Nurse can range from $70,000 to $100,000 a year. This can vary from location to location. This type of career has competitive pay and offers a wide array of experience opportunities.
To start I would try to successfully enroll in nursing school. Once I got in I would try to establish connections with my professors and other nursing students, so I have an established group I can refer to.
To help me success I would try to attend any student resources to get help and fully understand the information.
Create a study group, so that I would have the support and motivation to study and get closer to my goals
Once I have an established group , I would try to join any Job shadowing or Internships. I feel that participating in job shadowing this will help me understand what type of career I want and can handle. Then do well in my nursing classes.
I've kept this simple and concise, so I have a rough blue print of what I would follow. But this also allows me the freedom to move things around.
