I aspire to achieve many goals in life, many of which revolve around my future career in medicine. I have always believed in giving back to my community, which is one of the reasons that I aspire to be a pediatrician. I have always worked towards becoming more involved in my community through a variety of volunteering activities as well as internship opportunities. One internship experience I have had the opportunity to have was at Grace's Oasis, an Adult Center for young adults who struggle with developmental disabilities. This internship allowed me to interact with individuals with developmental disabilities, which will hopefully be my specialization in pediatrics in the future. I learned a lot in my experience as an intern, and it made me realize the intense need for specialization in such a field. My career aspirations consist of getting a bachelor's degree in neuroscience, which will set me on my path to becoming a pediatrician. Ever since I was young, I knew I wanted to become a doctor who would study the mind. I saw and continue to see firsthand how vital healthcare and neuroscience are to the world's well-being. Everyday I continue to see the intense need for specialization within the field to help those who may not have such support throughout their lives, this is why I have made it my mission to contribute to this greater cause.
I am a determined young woman committed to serving my community through healthcare. Recognizing the pressing need for healthcare professionals, I am dedicated to assisting those unable to help themselves. My passion for contributing to humanity led me to intern with individuals with special needs, solidifying my commitment. Actively seeking an internship in a healthcare clinic, I aim to gain hands-on experience to further my understanding. This calling is not just a career choice; it's my source of fulfillment, and I am optimistic that life will allow me to accomplish my dreams.
As I reflect on my journey, I envision a future where I am not just a student but an honors student at IUPUI who embodies qualities that go beyond the present. I want to become a well-rounded individual, blending academic excellence with personal growth. My goals extend beyond the institutional requirements; I aim to stay on track with my grades, actively participate in the First Year Science Apprenticeship Program, and engage in the LHSIe program to gain valuable insights and experience into the healthcare field.
In addition to academic pursuits, I want to become a more mindful and culturally aware person. My journey involves developing a deeper understanding of cultural complacency and spreading awareness about global issues. I see myself actively participating in initiatives that contribute to the betterment of society.
Furthermore, my personal growth journey involves a perpetual commitment to self-improvement. I aspire to be more mindful, finding a balance between academic rigor and personal well-being. My ultimate source of happiness will come from not only academic accomplishments but also meaningful contributions to the world. Such meaningful contributions would come from engaging in experiences such as missionary trips with organizations like Doctors Without Borders, which aligns with my desire to make a positive impact on a global scale.
