My ePortfolio

Welcome!

My name is Jordan Nus and I am currently a sophomore at IUPUI studying Biology with the intent on minoring in Chemistry. I plan on attending medical school upon my graduation in 2024. Although I am not sure what specialty I would like to pursue in the medical field, I do find general surgery, emergency medicine, and oncology quite interesting. I am currently employed as a research intern, medical scribe, biology mentor, and PLTL leader for organic chemistry. In addition, the internship site I am working for is focused on cancer research and how the mutation of specific DNA binding domains in overlooked regions of the MDM2 gene may alter the way that cancer progresses in tumor formation.

Getting into STEM

I always enjoyed the sciences and loved learning why the physical sciences have a cause and effect relationship to almost everything that occurs in the world around us. Knowing this information encouraged me, from a young age, to become passionate about the sciences and seek out answers to complex questions. Having this knowledge allowed me to not only help myself, but it let me help others learn more about the world through the sciences. Having this passion for science lead me to choosing Biology as a my major and what eventually made me become extremely passionate about medicine, and now possibly even research.
