About Me

  • COMMUNICATOR

Open communication is the key to successful outcomes. In high school, I have completed 2 manuals of the Toastmaster International (Competent Communicator and Competent Leader). These 2 modules have taught me a lot about leadership and communication which have shaped me today. This also motivated me to take the position of Social Committee Chair in the National Honors Society (Alpha Lambda Delta/ Phi Eta Sigma). This role required a lot of communication with the social committee and the executive board simultaneously, hence improving my communication skills further. I believe communication is not only about sharing opinions but being mindful of one's position and then taking decisions. In an internship, communication between you and the supervisor/ you and the team is essential and I hope I can apply these in my internship site.

  • PROBLEM SOLVER

If there is one vital thing that I am learning from studying to become an engineer it is problem solving. The application of theory learned in the class is applied to all the aspects of labs and vice versa. One faces problems on a daily basis but personally, I like to be patient and analyze the problem first before I came to the decision. This is my second year but I want to keep growing in this field. An internship is a right opportunity for me to teach myself and evaluate things more accurately.

  • INNOVATOR

I love coming up with new solutions to every problem. For ENGR 19600 (course taken previously), we had to build an electric circuit with an Arduino and when I researched the topics, I came across a lot of robots or artificial intelligence information, that I had not dealt with before. Hence I decided to make a basketball scoreboard by just using LEDs, seven-digit display, and a buzzer which was under the budget. Another instance would be for my BME 243 that is the biomechanics lab where we had to design a fracture plate. My group made 4 possible changes to the fracture plate and analyzed the stress and strain on the surface. The design was a success with minimal stress. These experiences taught me to think out of the box and innovate multiple solutions to a single problem. I hope to apply these experiences in my research and talk to my supervisor about the various solutions and methods one could approach the problem with.

  • COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTOR

I do believe that "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy". Hence I love participating in extracurricular activities as it helps me to keep my mind off things and is generally my stress buster. One of them is volunteering, not only is this a service to the community but the joy of doing good is what de-stresses me. I have volunteered at Coburn Place (Safehouse for victims of Domestic Abuse), Paws Pantry on campus, Hancock County, Regatta, etc. Apart from volunteering and being a part of executive boards, I love contributing to my group by sharing the knowledge I gained and help others by understanding the content
