Introduction
Below are the journey maps I made freshman and senior year as an honors student at IU Indianapolis. The freshman year journey map includes goals and activities I planned to do across the four years of my undergraduate degree. My senior year journey map includes everything I actually achieved as a student at IU Indianapolis. There are some similarities between the two maps, but there are also many additional experiences that I could never have imagined would be a part of my journey.

Reflecting on My Journey
As I compare the goals I had as a freshman to my achievements and involvement over the last four years, the growth I experienced is evident. There are many experiences and accomplishments that I never expected to be included in my journey. As a freshman, I listed goals to get involved in everything that I knew existed and that seemed interesting to me. I reached many of these goals, including becoming a mentor, volunteering, studying abroad, and being accepted into the IUSM Anesthesiologist Assistant Program. One of my main goals was to be open-minded, which led me to many of the new opportunities on my senior journey map.
Through my connections on and off-campus, and thorough research, I found experiences that shaped who I am as a soon-to-be graduate. I gained professional experiences as a Medical Receptionist, participated in new leadership positions, learned about other cultures while serving on mission trips, and was recognized for many academic achievements. These accomplishments were not in my original path, but without them I would not be where I am today. Along the way, I built relationships with my peers, faculty, and healthcare professionals, while developing skills necessary for my future career. My original journey map outlined where I wanted to go, but my current journey map represents my success throughout the journey.
