Experiences

As a medical scribe, I assist the Emergency Department Physicians in charting their encounters with patients, documenting physical exams, and conversations with other specialty providers. It is expected to see 20-35 patients a day creating a fast-paced environment. In this current role, I have seen the clinical aspect of healthcare, learned how HIPAA is heavily regulated and enforced, and how to navigate electronic medical records.

My prior experience consisted of working in various positions in the retail industry. From September 2018 to May 2020, I served the residents of Westminster Village as a waitress in the dining services. There, I developed customer service skills that I continue to expand upon. 

From August 2020 to April 2021, I worked for the Finish Line Corporation as a sales associate. Working in this position allowed me to further develop my soft skills, such as communication, negotiation, and listening. 

From January 2022 to December 2022, I was a part of the Meijer team as a cashier. Still, within the lines of customer services, it was different from my prior experience. Learning to work under pressure and with unexpected challenges allowed me to think critically and in teams. I was tasked with maintaining order while still providing excellent customer service and problem-solving solutions to our guests.
