Activities

I am always out in the community in some shape or form. For two summers I have led a dance camp for adults with Down Syndrome called Live Laugh Dance in Franklin, Indiana where we learn a new dance every week and do some fun activities to keep us moving and work on our coordination. Summer of 2022 I am moving up to a paid position and I will be the one leasing the warm-ups, activity stations as well as choreographing the dances. I also enjoy volunteering for Down Syndrome Indiana when they have events just having fun with kids of all ages while parents get some away time and have meetings about upcoming events and support groups near them!

School Spirit!

I love to support my school in any way possible, whether that is going to sporting events, being an officer for the Organization of Kinesiology, or being an ambassador for SHHS, count me in.

Coaching and Working Out!

I was a small group fitness coach for 3 years and I have so much fun with it. I also enjoy trying new workouts to challenge my body, whether that is yoga, power lifting, HIIT training or a combination I love being active.

This is a photo taken at the leadership camp I attended, this was one of the activities we had to lead our group through.

This is a picture taken when I was a student trainer for another SHHS student through the training and completion of a 5k run.

This is a picture taken during the Monumental Marathon with one of the students I helped to train and guide through the 5k race.

This is a screenshot of an eportfolio student panel I participated in. We discussed how we created our eportfolios, our experience learning how to use them and ways they have helped us now.

This is a picture taken during a Girl Gains IUPUI gathering. I volunteered to assist members of this female weightlifting group in the process of learning basic compound movement form. I demonstrated as well as helped give cues while perfecting form.

This is at the Upward Bound end of summer celebration with one of my students. I lead a fitness class for these students to allow them to get in physical activity and exercise. The students had the opportunity to learn about the importance of health and wellness.
