Following graduation, my next professional step is to secure a position in the healthcare finance, operations, or medical group management. I am actively applying for entry-level roles in areas such as patient financial services, billing, financial analysis, and administrative positions in medical offices. Until then, my goal is to keep gaining hands-on experience in my internship position.
As I continue to pursue roles that blend financial operations with patient-centered care, I plan to leverage the information and skills that I developed during my internship at Everwise Credit Union, such as document validation, process compliance, and team communication.
In the next 5 to 10 years, I see myself in a leadership role within healthcare finance or medical group management, in a position such as such as a Financial Analyst in a healthcare organization or a medical practice manager. My long-term professional goal is to play a strategic role in improving financial performance while supporting quality patient care and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
To support this vision, I plan to earn a Master of Health Administration (MHA) or an MBA with a healthcare concentration and look into certifications for medical office management and healthcare finance professionals. These steps will strengthen my leadership, analytical, and policy knowledge, preparing me to make a meaningful impact in the healthcare industry.
I recognize the importance of continuous learning and professional development, especially when I want to work my way up into a leadership position in healthcare finance or medical group management. I plan to pursue a Master of Health Administration (MHA) or Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in healthcare within the next 2–4 years.
I also intend to look into joining professional organizations like the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), and Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) to expand my network and stay informed on the industry.
Additionally, based on my 360 Review feedback, I plan will focus on improving my confidence in professional communication. I also plan to continue practicing business writing to ensure that my written communication is accurate and professional. I aim to pay closer attention to my grammer and tone in my writing to help improve this.
Through these actions, I will continue to grow both professionally and personally, positioning myself to make meaningful contributions to healthcare organizations focused on financial sustainability and patient-centered care.
