I have been so honored to serve in the nursery at my church since I was 16. Every Sunday after I attend a church service myself, I serve the next church service in the nursery at my church. I watch the babies and play with the kids while their parents get the opportunity to go to the service.
This is a picture that my church took of me recieving a baby.
What initiated my interest in serving was my older sister. My sister started serving in the nursery and I would always beg to go with her but i had to wait until I was 16. The week I turned 16 I was finally able to serve with her. I immediatly fell in love with all of the babies there. I knew I would love serving.
I am so honored to serve with a great group of people every week. This makes it easier to overcome the obstacles. Sometimes it isn't the easiest to comfort the babies or know exactly what a child wants so being able to have a team to help is very beneficial.
This is one of the most rewarding things I do. It is the best feeling when you receive a kid the very first time and they are maybe 6 weeks old, but their guardians trust you to watch after them properly. It is so rewarding when the parent comes to pick their kid up after service talking about what an amazing service it was, showing that me simply just taking an hour out of my day was helping them get that break they need to be able to relax and really take in gods word.
