Driver FAQs:
Q1. What will I be doing on 9 November as a Driver?
You will be driving to Arcadia Road to pick up the food items to be distributed at the worksites.
Q2. How can I sign up as a volunteer driver?
Please join our Whatsapp Group here. The sign up form will be sent there.
Q3. Who should I be distributing the food to?
Option 1: Select a slot from our signup form. Please choose only one slot. You’ll need to drop off the food assigned to you at the specified location since they’ll be expecting it. For now, only the general location is released, but the full address will be provided sooner to the date.
Option 2: You can choose to pick up the food and distribute it freely to migrant workers you encounter, such as those on road projects, cleaners, or those working around HDB estates.
Q4. What should I do after signing up for a driving slot?
If you’re not already in our Drivers groupchat, we’ll add you so you can receive further details. A few days before the event, we’ll provide you with the exact address and contact person. You will likely be one of the many cars that are distributing to the designated worksite.
When you arrive, you may hand over the food packs to the worksite supervisor. Feel free to ask for some photos too!
If they invite you to distribute the food to the workers, you’re welcome to do so.
Q5. What should be the food to worker ratio?
The benchmark is one pizza per 3 workers or one samosa per worker (applicable to Option 2 - Free distribution)
For worksite distribution, the site supervisor will manage the food distribution internally, or they might invite you inside to help with giving out the food.
Q6. There are no more driving slots left. What should I do?
Please let us know so we can release more slots for you!
Q7. I have chosen a driving slot, is it still possible to give some food to migrant workers I meet along the way?
If you have signed up to distribute food to the designated worksite, please make sure the whole batch of 30 pizzas or 90 samosas are delivered there. The worksite has been informed and will be expecting your delivery.
Q8. Can I bring some of my own snacks to distribute too?
Yes! Traditional Indian sweets or cold drinks would be ideal if you are keen on going the extra mile.
Please distribute these items to migrant workers you see on the streets. We do not encourage distributing these items at the designated worksite as your extra items may not be distributed equally to all workers on-site.
