IFIP TC5
Working Group 5.12
"Architectures for Enterprise Integration"
Aims
To foster scientific and applied research into Enterprise Architecture, Integration, Interoperability, and Networking (EA2IN) disciplines, in particular, Enterprise Reference Architectures, Enterprise Engineering Methodologies, Enterprise Modelling, and Generic Enterprise Models.
To identify theoretically sound and practically viable strategies, methods, and techniques for Digital Transformations towards the "Totally Integrated Enterprise".
Scope
To continue the scientific evaluation of Enterprise Reference Architectures, Models, and Frameworks as they become available in the academic and industrial research, through:
The description of physical and functional architectures of information systems, including integration infrastructure architectures, as well as program architectures for complete enterprise lifecycle development and management.
The development and evaluation of specifications and recommendations for both of the above classes of Enterprise Reference Architectures, including specifications for each Enterprise Lifecycle Phase, for instance:
Architectural Frameworks.
Enterprise Modelling Tools and Languages (viz. Language Specifications, Ontological Theories, Computer-Aided Engineering Tools).
Enterprise Engineering Methodologies.
Generic Enterprise Models and Building Blocks (e.g. for Intra- and Inter-Enterprise Integration, Agent-based Integration, Information Infrastructure, Organisational Models, Self-similar Structures, and Reusable Industry-specific Models).
The multi-disciplinary perspective of the IFIP WG5.12 is expressed in its strategy of developing liaisons and co-sponsoring activities with other relevant Working Groups (WGs) and Technical Committees (TCs) of the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP), and other international organisations that are conducting research, development, and practice of Enterprise Architecture, Integration, Interoperability, and Networking (EA2IN) disciplines.
