Nitai (He/Him/His) works as an assistant professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering & Technology at IIT (BHU) Varanasi. He completed his direct Ph.D. in chemical engineering from IIT Kharagpur in 2020 after receiving his B.Tech. in chemical engineering from NIT Durgapur in 2013. During his doctoral study, Nitai focused on the large-scale, economical production of 0D, 1D, and 2D copper nanostructures for nanofluid applications. An institute postdoctoral fellowship at IIT Madras funded his postdoctoral works on pickering interfacial photocatalysis and emulsified fuels from 2020 to 2022.

Nitai spent his first 24 years of life in Durgapur, West Bengal, where he was born and reared, until relocating to Kharagpur, West Bengal, in 2014. In March 2022, he arrived in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, one of India's most ancient and culturally rich cities, after spending 1.5 years in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
