The Instructional Design and Technology program taught me how to use best practices of the field to build instructional units for productive learning. It also empowered me by teaching me how to use technological tools to create resources for instruction. Lastly, I was pushed to strive for improvement by exploring research in the field that could push learning to its most productive level.

My great uncle had Down syndrome, and I had a wonderful experience helping him for several years. While working with him, we would engage in a number of tasks that would exercise his capabilities. We would go out for physical exercise. We would play card games or sort sports cards to practice mental abilities. Finally, We would go on trips around town and complete household tasks to engage in independence.
