The majority of readings academic writings by male authors, many quite old. Readings/content include very few voices of women or POC.
The first reading's content Hippocrates, a very ancient perspective. This sets the tone of the course and indicates which voices and perspectives are most valued.

The course content includes diverse modalities of content, including poetry, blogs, videos, personal essays, and academic writing.
The major assessment includes multiple modalities of knowledge production.
The policies and resources section address student rights and health and include resources to support learning.
