e-Learning Days

Israel School of Excellence will continue e-learning days this school year. E-learning is the use of technology to enable students to learn anytime, anywhere. ISOE will utilize e-learning on emergency cancellation days. This will replace the need for adding school days to the end of the school year. As a part of the admission process, parents are asked to sign a technology agreement that states they will provide an electronic device and stable internet service for student to complete e-learning work. Teachers  are committed to creating standards-based lessons that correlate to what the students are learning in the classroom.  Please read through the information below to ensure you have a good understanding of the expectations of e-learning days.

What will it look like for students?

There will be different expectations for the different grade levels. An e-learning day will involve participating in a virtual-teacher led class, watching a  video on YouTube, completing a writing prompt, practicing vocabulary words, or working in an online education program. All assignments will include websites and programs that students have already become familiar with in the classroom.

What are parent responsibilities?

Parents will be responsible for relaying the day’s requirements to their child. They may also be required to sign/initial completed work. Parents can also communicate with teachers through email if there are questions. In primary grades students will require an at-home learning coach to navigate through the day's work.

What happens if my child needs assistance?

Teachers will be available for help from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm via ClassDojo or email on e-learning days.

When will e-learning material be received?

Families will receive e-learning materials no later than 9:00 am on e-learning days. Parents should look for a teacher email with the day’s plans

How will attendance be taken on e-learning days?

Students will be considered "present" on e-learning days if they turn in their assigned work from the day (on the same day that it was assigned by 11:59 P.M. CST).

How and when will students turn their work in?

Student work may be accepted in different forms, depending on the grade level and the assignment. Teachers will give specifics in their lessons about how and when the work is due. For example, younger grades may be required to print out and turn in work. Older grades may be required to submit work through Google classroom.
