Step 0: Make sure you know what you are doing
Talk to your peers who have done DofE and ask questions
Look up information on https://www.dofe.cz/en/ or https://www.dofe.cz/
Study the ISB DofE rules
Make sure you are ready to stay after school (3-4pm) from time to time due to DofE meetings
Make sure you are ready to go on the training trip 8th - 10th April 2026

Step 2: CONFIRMATION
You will get an email where you have to confirm your email address
Your parent also gets a confirmation email, where they need to give a consent by clicking on a link
Step 3: PAYMENT
The payment gate opens only AFTER your parent confirms the consent
You or your parents can pay the registration fee via an online payment gate in the app or on the https://www.onlinerecordbook.org/fo/ website
The registration fee cannot be paid cash, because it doesn’t go to the school, but to the DofE organization
Step 4: SETTING UP GOALS AND ACTIVITIES
As soon as your parents consent and your payment is done, you will be able to start setting up your activities and goals. You can do that either in the https://www.onlinerecordbook.org/fo/ or in a mobile app ORB participant (I highly recommend downloading the app as it is very convenient for writing your logs later on)
Set up your PHYSICAL ACTIVITY, SKILL and VOLUNTARY SERVICE and a goal for each of these activities. Remember your goals must be S.M.A.R.T.
IB DP students MUST choose the same activities as for their CAS, it counts for both CAS and DofE
You will need an ASSESSOR for each section. The assessor should ideally be your sports coach, art or music teacher, volunteering coordinator… basically the person who leads the activity. If you choose an activity you do individually, you just put Ms.Adela’s name and email address there. You don’t have to fill in the phone number.
The only extra thing the assessor needs to do is to approve the activity when it’s done. He or she gets an email with a link. The whole process doesn’t take more than 5 minutes, so your potential coach or teacher doesn’t need to worry. Please note, YOU CANNOT BE YOUR OWN ASSESSOR and your friend or classmate cannot be your assessor either.
Step 4: MAJOR ACTIVITY
You must decide which of your 3 activities (physical, skill, volunteering) will be your major
Major activity is the one you will do the longest (EXAMPLE: Bronze level takes 6 months, you have to complete 6 months of your major activity and then 3 months of each of the other 2 activities which means you don’t have to do all the 3 things at the same time)
Step 5: LOGS
As soon as your SMART goals are set, you are expected to dedicate 1 hour per week to each of your activities.
Every time you practice your activities, you have to make a short log in the app where you describe what you did in 3 to 5 sentences. You are much encouraged to add pictures.
You can add logs from past dates, but I highly recommend to do your logs continuously
You cannot add more than 1 hour per week, so If you happen to spend more time on your activity, you will have to split it into more logs
