EXPECTATIONS
The DofE participants are expected to:
actively, responsibly and independently communicate with their parents, teachers and supervisors - the DofE teachers' communication with the parents will be minimal here, it is the students responsibility to plan and inform
participate in the training trip (Date TBD) (without participation it is not possible to go on the expedition)
be ready to stay after school (3-4pm) from time to time for meetings and training

BRONZE 14yo SILVER 15yo GOLD 16yo
NOTE: Only students who have successfully completed the bronze or silver level may sign up for gold. It is recommended to start with bronze or silver in Y10 or 11 and gold in Y12.
TIMELINE
September-October
Recruitment of new participnts
Presentation of the expedition outcomes from the previous school year (movies, photos etc.)
New participants choose their activities:
physical activity (team sports, jogging, yoga, cycling, dancing, fitness, swimming...)
skill (music, languages, crafts, programming, chess, photography...)
volunteering (sandwich drive, helping in the school library, helping with ASA, cleaning up the school playground, leading a scout group, helping in animal shelters or nursing homes...)
Students have freedom in choosing what activities they want to do. You can learn something new or get better in something you already practice
Students must set a S.M.A.R.T. goal in each activity and dedicate 1 hour per week to working towards that goal
IB DP students may choose the same activities as for their CAS, as it's the same principle
November
Current participants must finish their level till 30th November
New participants create expedition teams after a team building session and a discussion with their supervising teachers
December
expedition dates must be set before the winter break
March
a ceremony at the New City Hall of Brno to award the participants of the previous season who finished their level by the end of October
April
pratice expedition and training - in order to be allowed to go on an expedition, all students must undergo a training set by the DofE organization
in 2026 the training trip for all new participants is scheduled for April 8th-10th
if a student doesn't join the training trip, they will have to postpone their expedition participation till next school year
May - September
student-led expeditions where the teachers check on them only every 2 hours
the students are expected to plan and execute the expedition by themselves with the teachers supervision and support
the students do not bring their phones on the expedition, they have only one emergency phone that is sealed
