The Co-Curator

Hello. My name is Alicia Sedgwick and I am British. As a teacher/consultant, my passion is helping my students (children and adults) to improve their communication skills and develop their confidence. I was the project manager of the first TEDxYouth Event in Monaco at ISM, chairperson of the committee, and co-curator with the student co-curator, and I have continued in those roles for each TEDxYouth@ISMonaco Event subsequently. I was thrilled when asked to MC the first TEDx in Monaco in 2014. I knew it was a conference about sharing ideas but I did not realise how the actual experience of working with a team would be the best and most rewarding part! TEDx is so much more than a few speakers and videos - it is about using all the resources in your community. In the case of ISM, we involve as many students, teachers and parents as possible in every aspect of the conference , including the planning, the marketing, sponsorship, the catering, the decoration, the entertainment, the ticketing, setting up the stage, welcoming our guests, reporting the event on social media...there are endless tasks, and endless talents we can tap into. I love working with the student team, and hearing their views, and experiencing their fabulous input. It is so exciting to have created this Event and to continue it for the fourth time in October 2025. I am constantly learning together with the team as the Event develops. I am very proud to work with the team at ISM, and to have created my own TEDxYouth Event here and developed it for the last three Events and now our fourth. It is also my pleasure to teach and train our student Speakers, and now for our third and fourth Events, parents and teacher Speakers, too.
