Kaiako Connection
Connecting to School when Learning from Home for Kōwhai Team (Ahoaho, Papatua, Kākahi, Manaia, Pātangatanga)
What is Kaiako Conection?
This page is for Kōwhai tamariki and whāinau who are isolating at home and therefore unable to be learning onsite at school.
Children in Pōhutukawa will now be connecting with one of the teachers in their team (see the hub pages for details).
The Distance Learning Programme is currently being overseen by Andrea Bailey (andrea@islandbay.school.nz).
Kaiako Connection with Andrea gives you a daily opportunity to connect via Google Meet as well as any other support that you and your tamariki may need during time learning from home.
The distance learning structure includes:
Weekly Checklist including Seesaw Activities set by your child's kaiako (Self-Directed Learning/SDL),
Google Meet (Connection Time with Andrea)
‘Switch it Off’ Activities (Device-Free Challenges)
