SUMMER PROGRAMS

Summer Maktab Curriculum

Iqra Academy Summer Maktab is open to children ages 5 and up.  At our Maktab, students will engage in intensive Qur'anic studies with a focus on proper Tajweed, ensuring they develop a beautiful and accurate recitation of the Holy Qur'an. Our students will progress from one level to the next:

- Qaidah:  Foundation for Qur'anic reading, introduction to the Arabic alphabet, proper letter pronunciation (Makharij), vowels (harakat, madd), and joining letters into words and sentences
- Rules of Tajweed:  Reading Qur'an with the proper characteristics and articulations, learning how to merge letters and conceal sounds, knowing where to start, stop, or pause in recitation
- Nadhirah:  Applying all the rules of Tajweed  as we complete one full recitation of the Holy Qur'an

Beyond Qur'anic studies, our program covers essential Islamic studies basics, grounding students in the core tenets of their faith.  Elements of our Islamic Studies curriculum include:

- Aqaid:  Core Belief System of Islam
- Fiqh:  Application of Islamic Principles
- Hadith:  Actions and Sayings of the Prophet ﷺ
- Seerah:  Biography of the Prophet ﷺ
- Akhlaq:  Morality and Ethics
- Adab:  Manners and Etiquette

A highlight of our daily routine is the performance of Salatul Duhr in congregation, led by our beloved Shaykh Nasser Hussein, providing students with a profound sense of community and spiritual connection, followed by a Halaqa of dhikr and reflection.

We offer the perfect balance of discipline and recreation; when students are not in the classroom, they can benefit from IFS Summer Camp and enjoy our state-of-the-art gym and outdoor play facilities for a wide array of sports and fun with friends. Summer Hifdh Curriculum

Meticulously designed to foster a deep, lifelong connection with the Holy Qur’an, Iqra Academy Summer Hifdh program provides a structured, immersive curriculum that prioritizes the mastery of proper Tajweed, ensuring that students not only memorize the sacred text but do so with the precision and beauty it deserves.

Our program is led by highly qualified and dedicated teachers who are committed to the spiritual growth of every student.  Beyond the classroom, we offer a supportive, nurturing community that encourages students to embody the values of the Qur’an in their daily lives. What truly sets us apart is our integration with a full-time Islamic school environment. Students benefit from access to our Islamic Foundation School Summer Camp with state-of-the-art gym facilities, outdoor sports turf, and dynamic playground, offering a wide array of supplemental academic classes, sports and physical activities.

Enrollment Process for Summer Hifdh

Our enrollment process will follow a structured three-step pathway to ensure proper placement and readiness: 

1. Pre-Registration 

• Families will first complete the initial pre-registration form:  www.tinyurl.com/sumhifdh 

2. Assessment Stage 

• After pre-registration, students will be scheduled for an assessment 

• This will evaluate Makhārij, Tajwīd application, and overall reading fluency 

3. Full Registration 

• Once the assessment is completed and the student is accepted into the program, families will receive a link to complete the full registration form 

• More information will be sent within the next two weeks with final scheduling, program expectations, and administrative details. 

• If a child is accepted after the assessment, their spot is confirmed and they will be officially enrolled in the program. 

This process is designed to ensure appropriate placement and to maintain consistent instructional quality across all students.
