GLOBAL WARMING
What is global warming?
Global warming is the unusually rapid increase in Earth’s average surface temperature over the past century, primarily due to the greenhouse gasses released by people burning fossil fuels. We can also think about natural causes, but those are not actually significant, as 99% of the fault is with human activity.
What is the perception of global warming in your country?
In Spain, the consequences of global warming are high temperatures in winter and really low temperatures in early spring.
What are the consequences of global warming in your country and in Europe as a whole?
On the other hand, we have the rest of Europe, where the consequences are really similar. There are heat waves more often, forest fires and larger storms.
What measures has your government taken to tackle the problem?
Our government has taken some measures. First, there will be a 23% reduction of emissions by 2030, compared to 1990 levels, with the goal of becoming carbon neutral in 2050. So far, it actually looks good. Though, in 2022 they are not doing anything but increasing the light price more and more.
Do you think these measures are adequate?
If you think about the suggestions, the Spanish's future will be really good. We must put in work, and help everyone who needs it, to not pollute the atmosphere so global warming will be reduced.
