In this interactive workshop, we will focus on raising awareness about animal welfare, ethical treatment and the impact of human actions on animals and the environment. Through open discussions, real world examples and collaborative activities, you will explore topics such as animal rights, conservation, sustainable choices and responsible advocacy. Rather than being a traditional lecture, we encourage conversation, critical thinking and the sharing of different perspectives, creating a space where we can learn from one another and develop informed opinions based on facts, discussion and empathy.
Join us for an engaging workshop exploring the life cycle of a piece of paper, from how manufacturers produce paper to how communities can recycle and reuse it sustainably. You will learn about the paper-making process, the importance of recycling and even see an example of handmade recycled paper created by our team. Our initiative focuses on encouraging paper recycling within our school community by collecting used paper and promoting better recycling habits.
Each meal we cook is a choice, and what we waste in the kitchen matters equally as much as what we eat. Change starts at home, with how we buy, cook and consume food. Our workshop raises awareness on high energy and CO2 production while preparing meals and promoting recipes with mindful use of resources. You will get the chance to cook some of our multicultural, sustainable recipes with locally sourced ingredients and low environmental impact from our digital recipe cards. Through a hands on, interactive cooking workshop and peer discussions, you will reflect on your environmental footprint and have the opportunity to try making some of our dishes.
OASISH is a student-led environmental and volunteering initiative at the International School of The Hague. We focus on sustainability, biodiversity, climate action and community involvement. Our GIN Day workshop involves creating a small ecosystem known as a terrarium using natural materials like moss, stones, and wood to represent small ecosystems. This project will give students a chance to get on the island and explore all the different species, connect with nature, and provide environmental awareness while connecting to SDG 13 - Climate Action. Students will also get to learn about sustainability, biodiversity, and climate action while encouraging creativity and environmental responsibility through the values of volunteering, and giving them a small piece of OASISH.

By the time you finish reading this blurb, 15 children under the age of 10 would have died due to poverty. A disease that kills slowly and painfully. As of 2023 over 700 million people will experience what's considered extreme poverty, and subsist on less than $2.15 each day. We know that poverty is a devastating issue and so do you. But will a single person taking action do anything? Make any impact at all? This is the thinking we challenge! Through this workshop, you’ll delve into debates surrounding this pressing and raising concern, expanding your overall understanding and exploring different perspectives.
