Here are reminders to all regarding learning and wellbeing:
When posting tasks on Toddle, please add your name and subject so students know who it is from (homeroom or single subject).
Do not add a deadline. Not all students or parents will be able to complete tasks within a given timeframe.
Offer choices over time. For example, provide 5 ideas and suggest they choose 1 a day. Use this JS tips list and you already have 2 weeks full of ideas. Add to it too.
Balance. Our goal is not to inundate students with activities, but provide a range of open-ended tasks for them to engage with as age appropriate.
If your students are not engaging with activities, this is okay for now. Their parents or technology may be having challenges that they too are trying to work through. Touching base with them to show your support is important.
Think about your tasks from the home perspective. If it is a worksheet, can they print it out or complete it online? If you are unsure, then think twice before posting.
Breathe. We are all doing our best. If you need help, contact Nicky, Kelly, Lisa or myself at anytime.
A morning message from you to them will be important. Not about their learning, but about you saying hi, offering a morning gratitude, a quote, a joke, anything to keep a relationship connection there while we are unable to see each other face-to-face. Specialists and Italian teachers, students miss seeing your face too so feel free to send a morning message to classes too.
If you are concerned about a child contact Kelly-Jo

Guidance for Teachers in Online Learning
The following guidance for teachers has been adapted from the recommendations made by Katie Rigg, CIS Head of Safeguarding & Student Well-being:
Where possible, individuals do not join virtual sessions from their bedroom, and are located in a common space in their house.
No sharing of any personal contact details, use your a.teacher@isfitaly.org log in at all times
If a teacher is worried about someone or something they witness in an online platform
Contact VP Student Support: i.szablinski@isfitaly.org if a student becomes distressed during a session
Teachers should not contact parents immediately if they have concerns
Teachers should block a user immediately if that user starts sharing inappropriate material in a virtual break-out session
Teachers to report any illegal content that might be shared online immediately to VP Student Support and IT Coordinator Riccardo Biagiotti
