Originally from Israel, Romi joined the International School of Düsseldorf in Grade 5 and graduated in 2022. During her time at ISD she was actively involved in cross country, swimming and basketball, both as a player and a coach.
Following graduation, Romi pursued a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences at Maastricht University, where she deepened a longstanding passion for problem-solving. Whether working in the lab or in entrepreneurial ventures, she became increasingly drawn to the challenge of bridging science and innovation to create real-world impact.
While at university, Romi co-founded a student-led carpooling platform aimed at making campus mobility more sustainable and accessible, a project that went on to win the Social Impact Prize at a 2025 startup challenge. Since then, she has worked with a pioneering medical diagnostics startup and supported corporate innovation teams in scouting and evaluating technologies.
Romi believes the best ideas start with a deep understanding of the problem, where insights can then turn into action.
