"I am pleased to invite you to the ISD Changemaker Conference on March 5–7, 2026. This three-day, student-led event aims to inspire communities to make a positive difference in their world. Come to Düsseldorf and see what our students, staff, and community are building together."
An excerpt from our December 'zine article.
I am delighted to introduce our new, sustainability-focused student publication, Seeds of Change.
Sustainability and student agency sit at the very heart of ISD’s mission and our strategic plan. We believe that education is not only about understanding the world, but about empowering young people to shape it with purpose, creativity, and responsibility.
For decades, ISD has championed environmental action and community engagement, from our Outdoor Learning Environment (OLE) and the RhineCleanUp to the Green Café, our growing network of Eco-Committees and our new Changemaker Electives. Alongside this work, the Sustainability Council and our Sustainability Coordinator continue to drive meaningful action across our campus. We are also proud to be supported by our Board member, Prof. Dr. Michael Koch, Professor of Economics and Sustainability, whose expertise and commitment help guide both our students and our strategy.
The Seeds of Change ‘zine is the latest expression of this culture, a student-driven platform connecting sustainability, agency and communication. It reflects our commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the Düsseldorf Climate Pact, showcasing the voices and ideas of our young changemakers as they prepare to host this international conference.
But to truly understand the energy behind these initiatives, you need to experience them in person.
To this end, I am pleased to invite you to the ISD Changemaker Conference on March 5–7, 2026. This three-day, student-led event aims to inspire communities to make a positive difference in their world. Come to Düsseldorf and see what our students, staff, and community are building together.
We very much look forward to welcoming you.
Best regards,
Frank Tschan
