The power button is on the right side of the device.
You will need your child’s Username and Password. If you don't know these credentials, please email FamilyTechHelp@isd77.org. Or you can see them if you sign into your Infinite Campus parent portal account and look on the "Profile Info" screen for each student.
A QR Code might have also been sent home to use to log in (for students in grades K, 1, or 2). This is different than a Seesaw Home Learning Code, which is not needed when using a chromebook.
Click on the Time in the lower right corner. A pop up will appear. Click on the wifi button. Your wifi should be listed. Click on your home wifi.

Try a Hard Reset:
Turn off your chromebook.
Press and Hold Refresh (3/4 circle) + tap power.
When your chromebook starts up, release refresh.
If that doesn't work, try powerwashing your chromebook:
Turn off your chromebook.
Hold down the esc, the refresh button and the power button for a few seconds and then let go.
You will see a screen that says "Chrome OS is damaged. Please insert a recovery USB stick or SD card." On this screen, hold down the Control key and the letter D key and let go. (You do not need a recovery stick or SD card.)
The next screen will say "To Turn OS verification Off, press enter." Press enter.
On the "OS Verification is Off" screen, press the space bar.
Press Enter to confirm.
Your chromebook will now reboot.
Once your chromebook reboots, you will be at the welcome screen. Click on the button that says "Let's go."
Connect to your home wifi.
Click on the "Next" button.
On the next page, click on "Accept and Continue."
Your chromebook will search for Updates and begin enrolling the device. Once it has enrolled successfully,k click on the "Next" button.
The page should now come up to the OmnId login.
Type in your username and password.
You should now be logged into your portal.

Try these steps:
Click the lower right hand corner by the time.
Inside the popup in the upper left you should see a circle saying wifi.
Click on the Wifi and turn it off and on.
Once your Wifi is back on see if you can join your network
If you are unable to connect, click on the lower right hand corner again by the time.
Click on the upper left circle stating wifi. This will list options for wifi connections.
Find your home wifi and then click on the upper right hand corner of the pop up and click on the gear wheel for settings.
That will bring up a pop up. There you should have the options for
Disconnect
Forget
Click on Forget
Click back on the lower right hand corner by the time and try to connect to your wifi again.
At school your student’s device is being filtered. For instance, we do not allow use of social media sites such as facebook or instagram. If your student needs to get on certain sites or as a parent you want to allow your student to get on certain sites or block certain sites, you can find more information regarding our filtering software called Securly here. The settings you change at home will not affect settings we have set at school when your student is in our buildings.

Sometimes a website will not load correctly because the cookies and/or cache need to be cleared. Here are the steps to clear cookies and cache on your chromebook:
Clearing Cache and Cookies on Chromebook
1. Click on the 3 dots in the upper right hand corner.
2. Click on History.
3. Click on History again (first word in pop up)
4. On the left hand side, click on Clear browsing data.
5. A pop up will come up - both the "Cookies and other site data" and the "Cached images and files" boxes should be checked.
6. Click on Clear data.
Once this is done, restart the chromebook.
