Hello! I am Mrs. Kemper and I teach 5th grade math! This is my tenth year as a bulldog. I am passionate about teaching math and helping all students feel confident in the classroom. When I am not teaching I enjoy spending time with my husband Nick, and our three children: Lydia (6 years old), John (4 years old) and Annie (1 year old).
It is important for students to ask questions! It is their biggest job! Students are in control of their own learning and it is important to speak up if they do not understand something. Students can always see me at 8:00 before school begins, study time or even snack break. If students have questions after school, the best way to contact me is through email. I try to respond as soon as I am able.
Our Daily Schedule
Complete a 5 question “Quick Check” from the previous day’s lesson. This is graded, and the score is entered in the grade book.
If a student scores less than 60% or ⅗, then they will watch a short video reviewing the material and complete the “Reteach to Build Understanding” worksheet.
We learn and discuss the new lesson.
Students work on the “Practice Buddy” on the computer. This is an assignment and students will get credit for completing it.
Usually about 10 practice and review questions
The GREATEST advantage is that students get to check their answers and receive immediate feedback and assistance if they need it!!!
