FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When a school day is cancelled due to inclement weather or other, unforeseen events, a “Blended Learning Day” will be implemented. Students will complete lessons at home. Lessons may have a “blend” of online or traditional paper/pencil activities.
When a Blended Learning Day is announced, information is sent to parents and students through Infinite Campus via email, text, and phone which will include lessons, attendance, and contact information.
Students in grades K-5 complete “choice board” activities, which can be accessed from the Home page on this website.
Students in grades 6-12 attend their classes via Google Meet sessions, following their school's 2-hour late start schedule. The links for the Google Meet sessions are found on their teacher's Google Classroom page.
Students are expected to participate in Blended Learning Day activities for all scheduled classes on the day the plan is implemented, just as they would on a traditional, on-campus day. Students who do not participate in planned activities are considered absent for those class(es) and will follow the same classroom protocols as a regular school day.

If a student is ill and unable to complete the Blended Learning Day activities, the parent should call the attendance line to notify the school of their child’s "absence" or illness. Reported absences will follow the same protocols as a regular school day.

At least five days of school would have to be cancelled before makeup days would be considered. As do most school districts, the New Prague Area School District schedules more instructional days than required by the Minnesota Legislature. In addition, the 2017 Legislature amended the Length of School Year; Hours of Instruction (Minn. Stat. § 120A.41) to include the option of a school utilizing up to five e-Learning days (Blended Learning Days) in one school year due to inclement weather.
