BLENDED LEARNING DAYS @ NPAS
Parents and Guardians,
Minnesota winters bring the potential for inclement weather and school closings. We all have childhood memories of snow days, building forts, sledding, and drinking hot cocoa after shoveling. There is value in these experiences, but snow days can add up quickly and learning opportunities can be lost. For this reason, New Prague Area Schools use "Blended Learning" in the event of school closings. Here are some important points about our Blended Learning Days:
When a Blended Learning Day is announced, information is sent through Infinite Campus via email, text, and phone which will include lessons and attendance information:
Lessons:
K-5 students complete “choice board” lessons and activities found on the Blended Learning Day website.
6-12 students attend Google Meet sessions and complete Google Classroom lessons and activities.
Attendance:
If a student is unable to complete the lessons due to an illness or other circumstance, their parent should call the attendance line to notify the school of their child's "absence." Reported absences will follow the same protocols as a regular school day.
Our mission at New Prague Area Schools is, “To engage and support everyone in high levels of learning.” Our vision is, “To be a premier school district that models excellence and embraces the challenges of the 21st Century.” If we hold true to these statements, we must create innovative solutions to promote student learning. We are excited for the opportunities Blended Learning Days will provide for our students.
