Hello and welcome to the White Bear Lake Area Schools choral program! Our middle and high school choirs have a long-standing tradition of excellence. Our program builds lifelong musicians equipped with a deep musical understanding and rich ensemble experiences. We value the art of vocal expression as a means to cultivate our humanity and relate to each other.

Our objectives as a choral program are to...

• Establish and reinforce excellent vocal technique

• Recognize, understand, and apply structural elements of music theory

• Improve ear-training and sightreading skills

• Cultivate and explore musical expression and creativity

• Expand knowledge and understanding of repertoire, performances, and artistic achievement from a variety of societies and cultures

• Develop a sense of fulfillment, responsibility, and pride in high quality performance

• Create positive choral ensembles filled with meaningful experiences
