Verified Interactions
Camera Time- a verified interaction occurs when students turn on their cameras during an on camera activity for which the student is visibly present.
Talk Time- a verified interaction where students respond in a verbal manner with the teacher or peers. This can be done by students unmuting their microphone to engage in a verbal exchange.
Classwork Time- verified interaction when students engage in the text/content of their coursework by posting completed coursework, submitting coursework, or clicking and doing the assigned work/task for the day.
Student Expectations
Synchronous Class Zoom:
Students are expected to attend all of their synchronous class zooms, including advisory/morning meetings. Attendance will be reported in the corresponding time blocks on Infinite Campus.
Students need to demonstrate one or more of the verified interactions to be counted present. Students can blur their backgrounds during camera time. Students can talk to or send a chat to the teacher if unable to participate during camera time.
Students are expected to attend all small group synchronous sessions that they are scheduled for. Teachers will communicate this when required for students.
Zoom Log On- students are required to have their first and last name on their zoom screens at all times in order to be let in from the waiting room. This helps to ensure that only the assigned students are in their right classes.
Intervention Times are zoom sessions that provide a variety of support and interactive opportunities for students, such as intervention groups, study groups, teacher help, etc. Attendance is encouraged for these sessions and is taken by the teacher towards individual student progress.
Charge Up! are social activities and clubs that are optional for students and may take place during the day and/or after school. If you have an interest in starting a group or a club, let your teacher know!
Asynchronous Assignment Time:
Asynchronous work should be submitted by 11:59pm to be considered a verified interaction for that day.
If experiencing technical issues, please email the teacher or call the main office for support.
Report an Absence:
If unable to participate in school in any manner for the day, please contact the attendance line.

Grading Policy
There are two areas to view information about grades and student progress
Campus - This is our official grade reporting program. This should be checked by parents and students weekly, and will be updated Mondays by 3:30 pm.
Schoology Location of assignments and due dates. Grades and feedback are given here on individual assignments.
Grading for Learning
Grades represent what a student knows and can do. Grading practices are consistent and transparent. Grading practices promote mastery of learning.
50% Floor Implementation
50% floor on all formative and summative work. This means that if a student attempts a summative project or test they will receive 50%.
CAMPUS GRADEBOOK CATEGORIES
80% Summative (Knowledge) This means that 80% of a student's grade will be based on what they have learned.
20% Formative (Practice)
Summative Reassessment
Remediation required prior to reassessment
Reassessments allowed up to the Trimester deadline
Test corrections do NOT equal reassessment
Lab and project based courses may have different reassessment policies (see course syllabus)
Campus Gradebook:
All reassessments have comments and original score reported
Reassessment score is the final score reported
Student Completion Deadlines
Each course is organized by modules with recommended timelines for completion.
Within the module time frame, grades will be entered for completed work or marked as “I” for incomplete for any work that has not been started or submitted and will not factor into the current grade.
At the end of the module timeline, incomplete work will be marked as “M” for missing and it will factor into the current grade.
Students can continue to submit all incomplete/missing formative and summative assignments without a late penalty until the trimester deadline.
The trimester deadline is the second to last week of the trimester on Friday at 11:30pm.
Students with accommodations or who are failing a course have an extended deadline and can turn in work until 2:45pm on the last school day of the trimester.
Campus Gradebook:
Gradebook updated Mondays by 4:00 PM
“M”: Missing work.
“I” indicates incomplete work that has not been started or submitted
**College in the Schools courses follow college grading policies.
Behavior Policy
Being a member of an online community requires students to conduct themselves in a responsible and respectful manner both as a student in a digital learning environment and as a student within a community. District issued equipment, email addresses, documents, and activity are monitored and will alert if any inappropriate and/or concerning behavior is conducted. Please note it is not recommended to charge your personal cell phone with a district computer as it may be subject to the same alert system. To maximize learning and ensure the safety of all students, students are expected to follow all district policies and school expectations at all times. All expectations apply as an online student and at all district campuses/events.
The School Board for Independent School District 622, North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale, adopts policies that govern the operations of the School District.
