Mrs. Schaller
Classroom Management Plan 2023-24
I will be following the guidelines from the book Whole Brain Teaching for Challenging Kids by Chris Biffle. This will be the basis for teaching, learning and managing behaviors in my classroom
Rules:
Follow Directions Quickly!
Raise your hand for permission to speak!
Make smart choices!
Keep your dear teacher happy!
Keep your eyes on the speaker!
These rules will be practiced and implemented daily until students know them. Each month they will be reviewed. If rules are broken, students will practice that rule during class game break.
Students will work together to follow these rules along with learning strategies to make our classroom a place where positive learning takes place. Students will find that I constantly refer to these rules thus maintaining consistency.
If needed, consequences for not following these rules will be: Note or email home, parent calling, recess detention, meeting followed by consequence from Mr. Severson or Mrs. Roisum, behavior referral with consequence from Mr. Severson or Mrs. Roisum. Consequences from Mr. Severson or Mrs. Roisum are communicated with parents and may include lunch detention and/or after school detention.
It is my philosophy that all students must feel safe and appreciated to excel. While I hold all students to the highest behavioral and academic standards, I treat each student as the unique person that they are.
