Classroom Expectations

“Successful and unsuccessful people do not vary greatly in their abilities. They vary in their desires to reach their potential.”

– John Maxwell

Classroom Rules

  • Treat others, as they would like to be treated.

  • Respect your teacher and classmates.

  • Raise your hand when you wish to speak.

  • Listen attentively as your teacher and classmates speak.

  • Be on task and engaged while in class.

  • Complete assignments on time.

Additional Expectations

  • Unless given permission, no cell phone use during class. If you are on them, you will be asked to turn them in until class is dismissed.

  • Use your time wisely.

  • No food or drink in the computer lab. Food & drink permitted in business classroom, but room must be kept clean. If consistently left messy, food/drink will no longer be permitted. Clear water bottle must be filled prior to the start of class, you will not be dismissed during class to fill your water bottle.

  • If possible, wash hands prior to class.

  • Be in your seat and ready to work as soon as the bell rings or you will be marked tardy.

  • Stay in your seat until the bell rings, gathering by the door will not be permitted.

Tardiness

For each semester, every tardy after four results in an hour detention. Excessive tardiness will be dealt with by a conference between the student, parent/guardian and teacher.

Late Work

Late work will be accepted, however, it will be graded according to my Career Readiness program. If an assignment is turned in late, the student will receive a deduction on the overall grade for said assignment, as noted in the Classroom Rules & Expectations provided to the student. Business Education is part of the Career & Technical Education field and the Career Readiness program helps students understand what it is to be accountable, responsible, and professional so they are as best prepared as possible when moving forward to college and entering the workforce.

Other Infractions

I will give one warning for a rule infraction in class. A second warning results in communications with a parent(s)/guardian(s). A third warning will result in sending a student to the office or giving detention. In the event of a bigger infraction (i.e. swearing, hitting another person, name calling, etc.), I will send the student to the principal’s office immediately without prior warning.
