What is ECFE?

Early Childhood Family Education is a parenting education program for all families with children between the ages of birth to kindergarten entrance. Battle Lake’s ECFE program provides an opportunity for children and caregivers to spend time together while also interacting with other families. Sessions include activities that allow adults and children to play together, large group time with songs and a story, and time for educational parent discussion. This time provides support to caregivers as they share, talk, and ask questions on relevant parenting topics.

Sessions options:

Monday Mornings at 9:00-10:45: 9:00 parent/child play time, 10:00-10:20 large group time, and 10:20-10:40 parent discussion (children will have a snack and play with ECFE aide), 10:45 dismissal

Monday Evenings 5:00-6:45: Come as you are! We want our evening ECFE sessions to work for all families, so we are following a more casual approach. Evening sessions will still include all aspects of ECFE, but with a flexible time schedule. Our evening sessions are set up for families to come and go as needed. Maybe you need to bring your supper along...do it! Whatever works best for you. Ms. Jenny will be there from 5:00-6:45 and will do large group time whenever works best for those attending.

Wednesday ECFE On-the-Go at licensed daycare providers in our area! Ms. Jenny will come for a scheduled one hour visit to provide an on-the-go ECFE experience. This will include a story, songs, group activities, take home projects/ideas, and a newsletter for families. Check with your daycare provider to see if they are signed up to participate!
