Spelling Skills Lists

Words on this master spelling/skills list are examples of words with specific spelling patterns that will be taught each week. These words, as well as other words with the same spelling patterns, may be used on weekly spelling assessments. The goal is for a student to demonstrate an understanding of a spelling pattern by applying the patterns to words he hears rather than memorizing a word list. Each teacher will determine which words to teach, as well as the sequence and rate of instruction, according to class needs.
