The School Newspaper contains articles, written by JWP students, of important and interesting events that occur during the current academic year.
Abby Balzotti
This is Abby’s fourth year in Publications and she returned yet again to enhance her skills and talk on paper because people don't listen. She enjoys activities like golf and bowling and choir. She loves arts and other nerdy stuff too. She plans on going to South Central College after graduting this spring.
Emily James
This is Emily’s fourth year a part of the JWP yearbook staff. Emily originally joined the yearbook staff because she wanted to take pictures. Emily is especially looking forward to photographing the pepfest this year. Outside of yearbook, Emily is involved in speech, the musical, and the swing show. Emily enjoys reading in her free time and plans to attend college after graduation.
Allie Hanks
One of only three seniors in the class, Allie has been taking Publications since freshmen year due to a love for helping create a project that students wait all year to see. Besides her dedication to yearbook, Allie is involved in Speech, theatre, and tennis. This year, she’s especially looking forward to the Speech season. Spending time with her numerous dogs, baking, and reading always fit into this busy schedule too. After high school, Allie plans to attend the University of Washington.
Annie Fuerstenberg
This is Annie's third year of working in publications. She began as freshman, and is now a junior. Annie enjoys baking, dancing, reading, and crafting. She is looking forward to dance nationals and the summer time.
Jazmyne Hale
As a junior, this is Jazmyne's third year of Publications. She joined the class because it is easy and fun. In her free time, she likes to go shopping, color, and drive. She is looking forward to having a successful academic year.
Emma Huelsnitz
This is Emma’s first year in Publications. Emma joined because Mrs. Oelke and Ms. G worked together to get her into Publications. Emma is involved in lots of activities, including hockey, track, softball, cross country, student council and NHS. In Emma’s free time she loves to play sports, lift weights, and hang out with friends. She is looking forward to the hockey season the most.
Ally Kirksey
Meet Ally K! This is her first year in Publications as a junior. She joined she had no other options, but wanted to hang out with her friends during 5th hour. She enjoys painting and just chillin' during her free time. She is looks forward to weekends; including the holidays and talking with her dearest friend, Marisa Waguk.
Marisa Waguk
Meet Marisa Waguk, it's her first year in Publications. She joined because of Annie Fuerstenburg and Jazmyne Hale's influence. She is not involved in extracurricular activities, but in her free time she LOVES to sleep and draw, along with doing homework. This school year she’s looking forward to surviving her junior year!
Avery Carda
This is Avery's first year in Publications as a sophomore. She joined because she likes to take pictures. Avery is a three sport athlete while participating in student council and marching band. During her free time she like to be with friends and play games on her phone. Avery’s favorite part of the year is HOCO and Snow Week.
Brenna Hed
This is Brenna’s first year in publications; she joined because she wants to be a sports photographer when she is older. Brenna is involved in many extracurricular activities like Marching Band, FCCLA, and she works at The Anchor. When she has free time she watches TikTok, plays golf, and hangs with friends. This year, she is looking forward to getting her licence and hanging out with friends.
Mattie Meyer
In her sophomore year, Mattie has an interest in gaming, reading, and complaining. Mattie joined Publications this year because she has a new interest in cameras and camera work. Mattie isn’t the biggest fan of school, but that doesn’t stop her hardworking nature. Mattie is immensely creative and also a very kind human.
Ma'liyah Petersen
Ma’liyah Petersen joined Publications because she had a keen fascination with the art of photography and wanted to explore it with her dear friends. Outside of school she is on the math team, using her intellectual mind to solve difficult math problems. While in her free time she enjoys reading, sleeping, and hanging out with her remarkable friends. She can’t wait for the last day of school.
Desirre Weis
This is Desirre’s first year in JWP's Publication class as a freshwoman. Desirre joined this class to become more involved with the school and to further her interest in photography. Other than Publications, she is involved with the school's C squad volleyball team. Outside of school, Desirre participates in many other things she has a passion for like reading, playing video games, doing crafts, and puzzles.
Anna Ziegler
This is Anna’s first year on the Publications team. She joined because she enjoys photography and thought that this would be a rather enjoyable class. During school Anna partakes in the activity of taking pictures of our student body for our school yearbooks. Outside of school she enjoys hanging out with her family, listening to music, playing video games, and reading.
