Get a Jump Start with Private Lessons!
We are proud to announce the Lakeville Lesson Academy. The Lakeville Lesson Academy is a group of private lesson teachers that are eager to work with our Lakeville Band Students in private lessons. This is not required but it is recommended if this is something your family can do. Private lessons can be arranged online with the specific lesson teacher of your child’s instrument. Private lessons will give your child the opportunity for 1:1 instruction which will be a tremendous help for your child as they are learning their new instrument! Here are testimonials from students who have worked with this same group of private lesson teachers.
Private Lesson Testimonials From Parents and Students
“It doesn’t matter what my son’s mood is going into his lesson, when he comes out of his lesson he is always smiling. The individual attention from his lesson teacher and the relationship he has developed with his private teacher is something I cherish as a parent. We all know every kid needs ten adult pillars in their lives, my son’s lesson teacher is an important pillar in his life”

“I started taking private lessons in fifth grade. What I love about my lesson teacher is that he is friendly, understanding, and supportive. What I love about how I feel after my lessons is that I always have fun, I always learn, and most importantly, I feel really fulfilled. Lessons are a bright spot in my week and that has become even more true with the covid. I know I will be with my lesson teacher 1 on 1 every week where I get to talk and I’m not muted on zoom! I am interacting - I love that and I really need it too.”

“I started private lessons freshman year of high school, but if I could redo it, I would have started them as soon as I started learning my trumpet in 5th grade! With the help of private lessons, I have achieved many of my goals as a musician such as being selected into multiple college honor bands, multiple Superior Ratings and Best In Site Awards at state-section music contest-festivals, being a soloist at the Minnesota Music Educators Association Conference, and being named one of the three trumpets in the Minnesota All-State Orchestra 2020-2021.”

“It took me from a below average middle school player to above collegiate level within a matter of four years. I just recently auditioned for the top wind group at my university and got in, which is not the norm for most freshmen, but private lessons almost certainly made that possible. Private lessons also gave me personal attention from a teacher, this was great for me as a musician and a person. Also, having another adult in my life that I could look up to in general was something that I appreciated. While it can sound corny, music does teach a lot about life and having a mentor to look up to did a lot for me as a young adult.”
