Setting up the program on your iPads

After installing the Swift Playgrounds App, you'll then need to add the program to fly the drones. When you first open the Swift Playgrounds app, you'll see multiple coding programs. In the upper right hand corner, click on 'Add Subscription', then click browse subscriptions. This will take you to a website that has the Parrot Drones coding program. The subscription is free!

Click on the blue 'Subscribe in Swift Playgrounds' button, and click subscribe. Click on the orange 'get' button to the right of the Parrot Education Picture to install that playground. That will take you to the "My Playgrounds" page.

If that doesn't work, try this: choose from other publishers, find Parrot Drones, then subscribe - then it'll slowly load.

If you want multiple playgrounds because you have multiple groups using the iPad for coding drones, just go back to 'new playground' in the upper left hand corner, scroll down to Parrot Education and repeat the directions above. Once you are on the "My Playgrounds" page, you can click on the name below the picture to rename it with a group name.

Parrot Template

Parrot Template is a program where you create your own code to fly the drone that doesn't have any directions and/or help with coding. It will mark incorrect coding and try to help solve the problems, but you won't get the orange highlighted area or code suggestions that lead you to the right code.

Students can use this program once they are finished with the drone flying lessons.

Group is finished with the Parrot Education Lessons

Once a group is done with programming, you can click select, then Trash that groups lessons/progress. To get an additional group on the iPad, follow the directions above.
