Paper 2 is a collection of short questions, such as define and explain questions. You should be quick and 'punchy' in your responses, eg straight to the point. When you see the example papers, notice the last 15 marks is very similar in approach to the 15 marks of a Paper 1. the other links between Paper 1, Paper 2 and the IA is the need to understand and refer to the news, i.e. real life examples.

As the first exams in 2022 we do not know appropriate grade boundaries yet . However, the boundaries you see below might give us a good estimate of what to expect. There are some differences to be aware note. The old equivalent of Paper 2 was also out of 40 marks but it was two shorter case studies, yours is 40 marks for one longer case study. In the old style students would have 1 hour 30 minutes for 40 marks, but you 1hr 45 minutes. Also, notice that the boundaries are different for SL and HL - this can be taken further. There are normally slight differences from year to year as the boundaries reflect the relative difficulties of the exam paper
