Each of the three commentaries must associate with a different part of the course; microeconomics, macroeconomics, global economy.
Each commentary must also use a different key concept as a lens to understand/frame the news.
3 x 800 word commentaries

each commentary = 14 marks
rubric requirements = 3 marks
maximum total = 45 marks
SL = 30% of the final grade
HL = 20% of the final grade
Please keep in mind these subject reports are written for the old guide. This means the assessment criteria is slightly different.
Technically the boundaries you see below are for the old guide. However, there are many similarities between the old and the new. Both are based on three commentaries, both have a total of 45 marks, all three areas of the course must be used. The differences are that the new guides insists students frame their IA via a concept and each i.e. is allowed 50 more words, to a maximum of 800 words.
