We provide first aid, assessment, advice, monitoring and treatment on a daily basis for anyone on school grounds who is unwell or has sustained an injury.
We have over the counter (OTC) medications available to treat pain and some other minor symptoms.
We do not provide diagnoses, prescription medications or more advanced treatments. For this we would advise you to see your Huisarts (GP) or recommend you to visit the emergency department depending on the circumstances.
Medical Updates: Please inform us as soon as possible regarding all changes in health, such as hospitalisation, accidents, new diagnoses, new medical treatment or medication of your children.
In the Netherlands, general growth, development and wellness is checked by a Doctor from the Government youth health department (GGD). These periodic preventive health checks are offered to every child at age 5 and 11. This includes hearing, vision, growth, motor skill development, and social/emotional wellness.
Parents will receive an email from the Nurse's Office inviting them to participate and and explaining the process further.
Additionally, you will be invited to an appointment with our Nurse Team and the School Doctor if your admission paperwork identifies any concerns in these areas of development that are not already under management with other specialists/services.
At the Nurse’s Office we can safely store medications for students. This includes medications taken daily (short-term or long-term) or medication taken “as needed.” Please complete this Permission for Medication Form and bring the medication into our office. Examples include: a back-up inhaler for asthma, medications for an allergy, medications taken daily in the morning (stored here in case the medication is forgotten one day), or a short-course of antibiotics for an infection.

In collaboration with the Dutch health department (the GGD), the ISA Nurse’s Office also offers a vaccination service at school, free of charge, to students over 4 years of age. The Nurse's Office can only administer vaccinations that are part of the Dutch national immunization program. We hold 7 vaccination days per school year.
To learn more about this service, please see the complete details here.
Families who wish to use the ISA Dental Services will need to schedule appointments for their child(ren) directly with the ISA Dentist.
New families should complete this form to provide your family details. If you are a returning family and you completed the form last year, there is no need to fill in the form again.
