Diarrhea (loose, watery bowel movements) is usually caused by a virus or bacteria ("stomach bug") and should stop within a few days. It can spread easily to other children or adults.
Please make sure to keep your child at home in case of diarrhea.
They are allowed to return to school when they have been 24 hours symptom-free.
stay at home and rest;
drink lots of fluids, such as water (fruit juices or fizzy drinks are not recommended);
eat when you feel able to (avoid fried, greasy, processed, or fast foods and pastries);
take paracetamol if you're in discomfort;
anti-diarrhoea medicines are not suitable for use in children.
Wash your hands with soap and water frequently
Clean toilets and other surfaces every day
Feeling thirsty, tired or dizzy;
dark yellow, strong-smelling pee;
peeing less than usual;
a dry mouth, lips or tongue;
sunken eyes;
in babies, few or no tears when crying and irritability.
